California Lutheran University In US Organizes Jubilant To Welcome Overseas Students

The California Lutheran University is all set to carry out an International Education Week starting 17 Nov to 21 Nov on its Thousand Oaks campus. The entire week would be full of activities to highlight its international students and study abroad programs. This joint venture of the U.S. Departments of State and Education, will include a World Fair and International Chapel Service.

The fair will start from 6pm and will continue till 8pm, Nov 19 (Wednesday) in University Plaza. Organized in association with the ELS, the highlights of the fair would include food, entertainment and displays from varied cultures. The worship service will take place on Nov 20 (Thursday) at the Samuelson Chapel. Students would carry flag to represent their country. The total count of foreign students joining the fall session courses is 483.

The 47 countries from which these students arrive include China, Republic of Croatia, Russia, Austria, India and many others. There are some 80 countries offering study programs across the world. These programs include semester, summer, year-long and faculty-led seminars. In 2014, 26% students from California Lutheran studied abroad or participated in a travel seminar. They hope to increase this to 40% by 2020.
