It has been promulgated so in order to decrease the barred medical graduatesí count from practising, after the completion of their higher studies in universities. In general, the graduates medical credentials and qualifications have to be endorsed by the HPCSA (Health Professionals Council of South Africa) to acquire the license for practising after their medical studies.
MEC for Health in KwaZulu-Ntal, Sibongiseni Dhlomo suggested all the parents, guardians and the international students to make sure that the universities that they have chosen for medicine are recognized by the country and to be more cautious while choosing the institutions.
He also noted that overseas nationals who have attained the permitted medical educational qualifications will only be allotted to undertake the practical sessions.
South African Medical Association vice-chairperson Dr Mark Sonderup stated that fake medical institutions in the country are creating lot of problems to overseas nationals who have come with an aim of becoming expertise doctors by undertaking practical education in their country.
He even added that they are also planning to take proper measures to make all the local institutions avoid such nasty situations for international students in their universities.
They are about to train doctors Limpopo and Eastern Cape to enhance the inflow of overseas students, says Mark Sonderup.
