As Canadian universities and B-schools touring India to divert significant number of Indian students to their schools, Sweden plunged into the picture to apparently send shock waves to many business schools.
In a recent report revealed by the Sweden Consulate in India, Sweden stood in third position, after US and UK, in terms of attracting Indian students to their universities. Emphasizing on the world class education in Sweden, the consulate has revealed interesting statistics. It has said that it received over 1150 applications this year, which was higher than 2012 where the consulate received 750 applications.
The overseas students in Sweden too, on the other hand, rose to 7,800 compared to previous 6,500 in 2012.
Hailing the universities in Sweden, consul general of Sweden, Fredrika Ornbrant has said that Swedish universities were known for the independent approach and outstanding research, which is giving them sharp edge over the others. Students would be able to develop critical thinking at the university, she added.
All in all, it certainly looks like Sweden universities wants to hog the limelight of Indian students as the latter are widely being discussed amongst international circles.
