According to the EM or Education Malaysia office in Dubai, the count of students from South Asia, North Africa and Middle East who wish to acquire some degree in Malaysia, is anticipated to double by 2020. Sushilil Azam Shuib, EM regional director of these three regions said that 30,000 students from the above mentioned regions were currently enrolled in various programs

Speaking to a news agency, Bernama, Shuib said that the target was to reach 60,000 the exact double of the present count by the year 2020. Higher learning institutions in Malaysia, for example, UniMAP were also encouraging the inflow of students from Arab regions.

Universiti Malaysia Perlis or UniMAP is all focused to be among the top 500 universities of the world by 2020. It recently opened a gallery at the EM office for a two-month period which has attracted a lot of local students. Sushilil Azam was of the view that the gallery needed publicity, for which institutions of higher education should hold launch events by Malaysian leaders and dignitaries.

Both local and international leaders were present at the launch and this strategy proved effective in focusing on the university's location and utopian study ambience. Other than the gallery, Sushilil said that Malaysia also conducted trips for the students, especially from the Gulf.
