According to Barbara Campbell, director of the international relations office, the small size of Charlottetown and the small size of the school were playing important roles when it came to recruitment. She went on to say that the students recognized the worth of a learning ambience and the fact that they were living there.

With a goal to bring in students from Turkey, India, Eastern Europe and Brazil, UPEI is now aiming for an aim of 20% in the next couple of years.
