India Forms The Second Largest Source Of International Students Heading To New Zealand
Indian students populace is accounting 12% of overseas students populace in New Zealand. The country is becoming as an emerging destination for more Indian students who desire to move overseas for education. In the past 10 years, there has been 700% rise in number of Indian students. For the first time, the number student visas have augmented by 123% from January 2014 to July 2014 when compared to previous year.

Grahame Morton, New Zealand High Commissioner to India, said that the countrys economic future is extremely attached to crucial associations, and India is the major source to New Zealand.

He added that the most excellent way to maintain links is by people to people connections that overseas education offers.

As per the Nathanael Mackay, Immigration area manager of New Zealand, the nation has set its policies to build the New Zealand as a top destination for overseas students.

Mackay said that the Government of New Zealand has made some amendments to work right programs that enable more overseas students to work while studying and permitting them to achieve first-class business experience while they study.

In the previous year, there were 11,984 Indian students pursuing their education in New Zealand accounting for 12% of the global student inhabitants in the nation. The most popular fields are management and commerce followed by IT (Information Technology) representing 15%.

He added on saying that they are planning to make sure that Indian students who are pursuing education in the country will be able to get a significant experience which in turn offer a better future options, especially in study fields and industries facing high skill shortfalls in New Zealand which included engineering, IT, construction, and science and technology.

New Zealand has proclaimed a series of scholarships for overseas students. The scholarship for Asia will offer financial support for undergraduate, pre-degree and postgraduate students up to NZ$10,000, which is applicable to nationals of 12 Asian countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and the Philippines.
