Melbourne Holds the Second Rank in the World for Education

For students who wish to study abroad, a recent guide has come up for them stating that Melbourne city ranks second in the world as far as education is concerned, with Sydney not far behind in the fourth place.

The 2015 list of top 50 best student cities for international students regards Australian universities very highly and the list includes four other major cities of the country which are Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. Melbourne has outshined Sydney to become the leading city for foreign students with a total of seven universities as featured in the QS World University Rankings for the year 2014-15. Paris is leading the way.

Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia is known for its attractions like its nightlife and beautiful beaches. The world class museums, yearly comedy festival, bars, cafes and chic restaurants serving a spread of cuisine from all over the world appeals to students from all over the world.

Melbourne scores brownie points in terms of desirability and employer activity. The high standard of living, coupled with scenic beauty makes Melbourne city a popular choice.

Higher education visa applications have risen by 19.7 percent since the last financial year, with China leading the way. They, along with Indian students, make up for 32 percent of all student visa applications.
