Scholarship and Fellowship Grants Provided by UK Universities

The coming year, 2015 will witness UK providing study scholarships by three of its renowned universities. There is also a fellowship program which is coming up.

The University of Edinburgh is offering PhD scholarships in Accounting and Finance to students from abroad. Up to three such scholarships are granted to students in a year in this area of study. These are valid for a time of three years. However, certain criteria must be fulfilled in order to be eligible. The application deadline for this scholarship is 1 May, next year.

The Brunel University is offering academic excellence scholarship for three years at the undergraduate level. Under his, 150 scholarships will be given to applicants. For the eligible students, the scholarship comes as a breather as it would give a huge fee waiver to them. The mode of application is online and the end date is 31 July, 2015.

At Birkbeck, University of London, postgraduate students are being offered Eric Hobsbawm postgraduate scholarship. These are available to the UK/EU and other foreign nationals at Birkbeck college. There are two scholarships which waives off the entire fee. One is given to MA students in the department of History, Archaeology and Classics and the other one is available for doctoral students who want to do research in the same mentioned areas. The research expenses would cover accommodation, training and conference fees as well as travel. The last date for scholarship application is 6 March, 2015.

The International Seabed Authority is proffering the COMRA Fellowship and Engineering Training Program which would provide training opportunities to four trainees belonging to developing States in the coming year. COMRA would take care of the economy class airline ticket expenses along with other facilities like accommodation and transport expenses. Two of the recipients would undergo training for five-months between March to July next year. The remaining trainees would benefit from a six-week engineering training program, beginning n March, 2015. Both these programs would take place due to the combined efforts of Zhejiang University and Second Institute of Oceanography in Hangzhou, China. The application deadline is 20 January, 2015.
