UK Launches New Tier 4 Visa Pilot Scheme For Students
The United Kingdom has come up with a new pilot visa program, which enables international students studying in top universities to stay in the country, up to six months post-completion of their course.
The pilot program, called the Tier 4 Visa Pilot Scheme, launched benefits for international students in the United Kingdom. Students enrolled in Masters Programs of Imperial College London, or Cambridge and Oxford Universities, will have the advantage of this new provision.
The program is managed by the respective university that gives students an opportunity  to stay in the UK for six months. Further, it also allows students to carry on some research work, study, or try to establish a start-up.
Alice Gast, the Professor of Imperial College London’s president, stated that “This pilot scheme is an encouraging step forward. The ability to stay on for six months will bring benefits to the students and to the country, as our talented graduates will be able to pursue their entrepreneurial ideas, further study or add to the UK’s talent pool,”
The new scheme will be applicable for international students commencing their study programs in 2016-17 or 2017-18. It is for the Master's program with course duration of 13 months or less. This program will be run for two years, and could be revamped after that.
