Out of the 32 polytechnic public research colleges in the USA, only New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) prepares it students to be pioneers in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields where the need for graduates surpasses the supply. Rise In New South Wales International Education Earnings

As per the latest update, the education sector at New South Wales has surged ahead of the tourism industry by nearly $ 2 billion. International education has become NSW's highest service export industry. New South Wales holds one third share of the total international education earnings of Australia. The Australia's annual international education earnings is $21 billion.The numbers of international students at NSW's Universities have increased over 30,000 in the last two years.The Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows that, since 2013, every year NSW economy increased by $1.5 billion since 2013; from $5.5 billion to $6.96 billion in 2015.NSW has seen drastic increase in the number of international students by 22.4 percent. In the first half of 2013, approximately 140,000 students enrolled in NSW Universities, whereas in 2015 it was 171,000. Alberta Sees 40% Increase In International Student Enrollment

Alberta – popularly known as Canada’s Garden province has been an attractive option for many international students in the global education market.In the last five years, international student’s enrollment in the post-secondary institutions has increased by 40%.  In 2011-12, the province had 13145 international students, the numbers increased drastically to 18203 in 2015-16, making up the 6.8% of the post-secondary students in the province. According to the Government data, “tuition, accommodation and discretionary spending” contributes more than $7.7 billion to the Canadian economy. Among other Grassland Provinces, Manitoba has shown almost 100% increase in the last five years. International students rose from 4,700 to 9,020, between 2011-12 and 2015-16. Saskatchewan province has seen 24%  rise during the same duration. Several parts of Eastern Canada witnessed a decline in international student enrolments. The Alberta provincial government has infused $16 million to cover up the losses incurred by the institutions with the two-year tuition freeze. Some educators opine that attracting international students doesn’t mean generating vast sums of money. Canada Wants To Retain International Students

Canada Immigration Minister, John McCallum, recently announced that new immigration policies will be introduced to encourage and retain international students for a longer period of time in Canada by providing post-study work opportunities. McCallum, active in promoting immigration has promised to remove all immigration obstacles. The new policies will award additional points to international students in Canada Express Entry System, helping students to work in Canada. He said, "Canada is an aging country, so we need new young immigrants to support our economy and help make it grow.” In an interview with, he considered foreign students as future citizens, because of their potential, bilingualism, intelligence and adaptability with the maple-leaf country. The new policies attract international students and facilitate them to settle in Canada. Speaking on Canada’s education ties with China he said,  "The governments of both countries want to expand ties in investment, trade and also in people, so we would like many more Chinese people to come to Canada as students, workers and temporary visitors ... so we need more visa application centers.” China and Canada’s cooperation in education is robust. South Africa Considers Waiving-Off Visa Requisites For Foreign Students

The South African  government is considering waiving off visa requirements for foreign students. Students with critical skills, with intent to work in the nation, will be exempted.Home Affairs Minister, Malusi Gigaba, has been supporting international students to work and become part of its skills development goal. Speaking at the foreign students’ conference organized by the University of Cape Town in Newlands, the Minister said that approximately 20,000 African healthcare professionals, who completed their education in the African content, are presently working in Europe or North American countries. The Government aims to retain international students for a longer period. The long-term visas are granted to international students who have additional skills. Hyderabad In Top Five Recipient List For US Student Visas

The US consulate general in Hyderabad has announced that the number of students from Hyderabad traveling to the United States for higher education is the fifth highest. Speaking to the media, Michele Bond, assistant secretary of state for consular affairs said that, Hyderabad Consulate had issued the 5th highest number of student visas in the world. Bond said that Indian students make up second largest student community in the United States, with the students enrolled in various study programs at the US Universities. Currently, over 132000 students are studying in the United States. Across the world, there are over 200 United State consulates and embassies and the announcement was made after reviewing the numbers of all.During the year 2015, a total of 60000 student visas were granted. Out of those 60000 the US consulate general in Hyderabad issued the maximum number of visas. Though the exact number of the visas issued was not disclosed but Bond said that Hyderabad "is a winner." It is not confined to student visas; Indian skilled professionals are also the largest recipients of the H-1B visa. Iceland University Welcomes 1,150 International Students

1,150 international students attended the welcome reception hosted by the University of Iceland.  The foreign students have enrolled in various programs for the autumn session. According to Rector, Jón Atli Benediktsson, The attendance of the international students at the University is increasing progressively. Approximately 1,105 students took admission in university under various programs in 2015 whereas in 2014 the number of students admitted was 1,069.
